Sowebohemian Arts and Music Festival Announces Musical Acts Performing at its 25th Anniversary Celebration
Caleb Stine, Rico (a recent Timbaland signee), Pasadena and Shook among artists committed to play on May 30 in Hollins Market
A variety of artists will perform to thousands of locals and out-of-towners alike to celebrate 25 years of Sowebohemian Rhapsody. Bands and musical acts range from folk to hip-hop, gospel to punk, and everything in between. Festival goers will be entertained by the soul/funk groove of Shook and Grilled Lincolns; reggae, rock, and hip-hop flair of Pasadena; Bond and Bentley’s acoustic fusion rock, and the Southern rock stylings of The Remnants. Additional local favorites Lazlo Lee and the Motherless Children, Kerq, Keefe Rocket, Freedom Enterprise, Higher Hands, Siring, and Lucid will share the stage with Great Divide, in from Ann Arbor, Michigan. The choir from Sowebo’s own Grace International Church will be raising voices and lifting spirits. Tommy Buckets will bring his signature drumming style to the streets of Sowebo as will the talented students of Waverly Middle School’s drum corps.
“We have some very talented musicians representing a variety of genres and we are really excited to be reveling in the Sowebohemian Rhapsody with our fellow Sowebohemians,” said festival co-chair Micha Dannenberg. “The bands our music committee, Brad Selko, Adam Herson, and Jim Hickey, have lined up this year will help to make this a totally rad celebration of the of the 25th anniversary of the Sowebo Festival,” commented festival co-chair Kristen Faber.

Sowebopsters Now Available
Along with the Soebofestival, the Soweboposter exhibit and auction is also celebrating its 25th anniversary. Sowebopostrs are now available for pick-up at various locations throughout Baltimore. We ask that artists pick up one or more, create your art on them and donate them back to Sowebo Arts at the location where you picked them up. We encourage diverse art and materials - check out some posters from past years in the Soweboposter Archive.
The posters will be exhibited around town beginning May 10, as well as at the Sowebofest. They'll then be auctioned off on June 27 at the University of Maryland Biopark. Proceeds benefit Sowebo Arts, Inc. Thanks to Lyliam Vasquez for this year’s border design.
